Late Wednesday night, Condé Nast’s VP of Labor Relations notified the Guild that the Company was immediately terminating four Condé United leaders for engaging in the protected concerted activity of gathering in their 1 World Trade Center office to demand answers on this week’s abrupt layoffs at multiple brands including WIRED and the consolidation at Teen Vogue.

NEW YORK –  Unionized journalists at the Daily News have reached a tentative agreement with the paper’s owner, Alden Global Capital, for a first contract that includes new, life-changing salary minimums, 6% wage increases over six months and new benefits for part-timers.

NEW YORK –  Editorial workers at CNET and ZDNet are joining The NewsGuild of New York as members of the Ziff Davis Creators Guild (ZDCG).

Late last year, Ziff Davis acquired both websites, which cover technology, reviews and beyond. CNET and ZDNet workers will be covered under ZDCG’s current contract, ratified last summer. Under the site’s former owner, Red Ventures, CNET content creators previously unionized as the CNET Media Workers Union affiliated with the Writers Guild of America East.

NEW YORK – Unionized editorial staff at New York Magazine have reached a tentative agreement with the magazine and parent company Vox Media that includes double digit wage increases over the life of the contract, addresses serious health care and living costs, and protects members’ rights if the company decides to use artificial intelligence. The tentative agreement allows the company to avert a comprehensive work stoppage by members if a deal was not reached.
