The New York Times Tech Guild's Statement on Management's Decision to Not Voluntary Recognize the Guild

04/22/2021

This morning -- through the press -- we learned of The New York Times’ decision to ignore the New York Times Tech Guild’s democratic decision to unionize, and to instead delay their recognition by forcing them to the National Labor Relations Board. This is a sign of disrespect not only to the tech workers of The Times but also to the 1,400 members of the Times Guild and of Wirecutter Union who support the Times Tech Guild.
