NewsGuild of New York Mourns the Passing of AFL-CIO President Trumka

Statement from The NewsGuild of New York President Susan DeCarava on the passing of AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka:

“Workers and union members everywhere have lost a powerful advocate today. Rich Trumka devoted his life to working people, from his time at the United Mine Workers of America to his work as President of the AFL-CIO. As union members, we can best honor his legacy by committing ourselves to action -- to organize and build stronger unions that give workers a voice and ensure they are treated with dignity on the job. He would want nothing less.”
