A peek at the meeting's agenda:

*The battle for fairness at Thomson Reuters.
*The start of contract talks at The New York Times.
*Merging Guild-represented Newsweek and non-Guild Daily Beast.

There's a lot going on in the news business today and it affects everybody who works in it, if not directly then indirectly. The Guild is on the front lines of the turmoil in our industry, fighting for the rights and working standards of journalists and all others who work in the news business.

It's your industry. It's your union. Come to tomorrow night's annual meeting for members of the Newspaper Guild of New York. You’re invited to listen and participate in the discussion. You'll hear reports from: Guild President Bill O'Meara about the contract struggle at Reuters, the start of what are expected to be contentious talks at The Times, the Newsweek merger and what’s going on at our other units, Secretary-Treasurer Peter Szekely about how the Guild is faring in these tumultuous times and Local Chairperson Ed Fannon of Standard & Poor's with an overview.
