Those cards have expired – and we are taking the opportunity to do something new and better. Starting March 12, we will have digital membership cards that you can access through your account. NEW YORK – Journalists at three newspapers in New Jersey represented by The NewsGuild of New York, have voted 98% to ratify their first contract with Gannett, lifting long-stagnant wages by over 25% on average, and averting a planned walkout.

The NewsGuild-CWA, joined a lawsuit against a Trump executive order filed today by American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) in the Southern District of New York. 

NEW YORK –  Editorial workers at CNET and ZDNet are joining The NewsGuild of New York as members of the Ziff Davis Creators Guild (ZDCG).

Late last year, Ziff Davis acquired both websites, which cover technology, reviews and beyond. CNET and ZDNet workers will be covered under ZDCG’s current contract, ratified last summer. Under the site’s former owner, Red Ventures, CNET content creators previously unionized as the CNET Media Workers Union affiliated with the Writers Guild of America East.

NEW YORK – NewsGuild of New York-represented staff at Condé Nast brands such as Vanity Fair, GQ, Vogue, Glamour, Bon Appétit and more on Tuesday overwhelmingly ratified a three-year contract with the publisher.

October 10, 2023 — Members of the Reviewed Union, which represents workers at Gannett’s flagship consumer review site, will walk off the job on Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days event today in protest of management’s failure to schedule bargaining dates and revocation of overtime pay from hourly employees after the announcement of the union last year. The Reviewed Union is one of more than 50 Gannett bargaining units represented by The NewsGuild-CWA.

NEW YORK – In response to Gannett’s second quarter earnings call this morning, where the company announced that digital subscription revenue had returned to growth over the past three months, Gannett union members and NewsGuild leadership released the following statements. The NewsGuild-CWA represents more than 50 Gannett bargaining units, covering more than 1,000 employees.
