Glickson, Lindsay win EC posts; convention delegates elected

Grant Glickson, unit chair of The New York Times, became 2nd vice president, Elaine Lindsay, unit chair of the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), joined the Executive Committee and a full slate of delegates and alternates to the 2010 Newspaper Guild Sector Conference and the 2010 Communications Workers of America convention was declared elected last week.
Lindsay, Glickson, who was already on the Executive Committee, and the slate of delegates and alternates to the TNG and CWA meetings, both of which will be held in Washington, D.C. in July, were nominated by the New York Local’s Representative Assembly on April 20. They were declared elected when no opposing candidates came forward by the close of business on April 28, 2010.
The latest election fills the last of several Executive Committee vacancies that sprang up in January as the result of buyouts at The Times, Time Inc. and Newsweek. The terms of all EC members expire on Jan. 1, 2011. A complete list of the TNG and CWA delegates and alternates appears below.
